Job summary

COWI A/S in North America seeks an Associate Project Director - Construction Lead to drive construction services on the Fraser River Tunnel Project. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, coordinate with the Owner’s Engineer and client teams, and grow COWI’s presence in Canada.

The role requires 15+ years of heavy civil experience, P.Eng. in BC or eligibility, and a proven track record in high‑level client relations and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural or related field.
• P.Eng. license in British Columbia or ability to obtain; PE is an asset.
• Minimum 15 years in engineering and project management for heavy civil projects.
• Experience leading complex multidisciplinary projects with budget and schedule accountability.
• Strong client relationship management and contract negotiation experience.
• Business development and project management in heavy civil structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction services on the Fraser River Tunnel Project (FRTP) budget, scope and schedule.
• Coordinate with client, OE input, RFIs and defect mitigation.
• Coordinate with on-site contractor teams; address non-conformances and inputs.
• Guide teams to practical construction solutions and manage multidisciplinary deliverables.
• Deliver senior project management across high‑complexity projects.
• Support proposals from opportunity to award and manage sub-consultants.
• Build strategic relationships to generate repeat and negotiated work.
• Collaborate across COWI groups to deliver integrated projects.
• Represent COWI in external committees and professional bodies.
• Mentor staff and contribute to Canada office growth.
