Job summary

The Corporation of the City of North Vancouver is seeking a Senior GIS Analyst to lead enterprise GIS solutions and modernize data models. You will drive integration across the City’s systems and manage complex projects with cross-functional teams.

Advanced ArcGIS proficiency (Enterprise/Online/Pro) and tools such as JavaScript, FME, Python, and SQL are essential; mentoring junior staff and collaborating with departments are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
Advanced hands-on proficiency with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, Experience Builder, and related Esri products; solid experience in enterprise system integration, database schema design, web development and data processing tools such as JavaScript, FME, Python, and SQL.
Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, business analysis, project management, and strategic thinking; ability to translate complex concepts for non-technical audiences and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

Lead development of enterprise GIS solutions and modernize GIS data models and workflows.
Research and evaluate emerging GIS technologies, contribute to GIS roadmap planning.
Manage GIS projects end to end, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, report progress.
Collaborate with City departments, external agencies, and vendors to share data standards and opportunities.
Train and mentor junior technical staff to foster knowledge sharing.
