Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to define and lead web platform and infrastructure across all web engineering. You will shape best practices, drive architectural decisions, and guide critical initiatives while mentoring a team of senior engineers.

Responsibilities include leading web development strategy, improving large monorepo build systems, and enabling AI-driven delivery improvements across web teams. Remote-first with national flexibility.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building and scaling web apps for large user bases.
• Deep knowledge of modern web tech: React, Typescript, NX, Vite.
• Ability to define technical vision and strategic roadmaps.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and mentoring engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive CI/CD, observability, and performance improvements.
