Job summary

Cabin Resource Management Ltd. is seeking a Mid-Level to Senior Forest Technician to join our Forestry team and lead the planning of road and harvest systems in BC. You will oversee data management in field and office, ensure regulatory compliance, and supervise crew members in the field.

We value safety, experience with LiDAR data, and knowledge of BC forest policy. We offer wage with biannual profit share, plus training, per diem, extended benefits, and RRSP contributions in a dynamic outdoor

Qualifications

• Safety-minded with a strong commitment to field integrity.
• Education in forestry with a Tech Diploma or Degree.
• Registered or eligible for ABCFP RPF/RFT registration.
• 4+ years’ experience with road and block layout in BC.
• Experience using LiDAR for planning roads and blocks.
• Solid understanding of BC forest policy and regulations.
• Experience in steep slope layout, data collection, and riparian assessments.

Cabin Resource Management Ltd. has built a foundation of experience and dedication to quality and innovative solutions in forestry, heritage, wildfire planning and resource analysis. We are currently looking to add a Mid-Level - Senior Forest Technician to our Forestry team.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Forest Technician you will be responsible for the following:

• Leading the planning and layout of road and harvest systems
• Lead all aspects of data management in the field and office
• Ensure legal, regulatory and client specific requirements are met with deliverables
• Effective supervision in the field and providing training for all crew members

Qualifications and Experience:

• An above and beyond commitment to safety
• Education in forestry field with a Forestry Tech Diploma or Degree
• Registered or eligible for registration with ABCFP as RPF or RFT (or working towards)
• Experience with road and cut block layout within BC (minimum 4 years)
• Experience utilizing LiDAR data for planning and locating roads and cut blocks
• A firm understanding of forest policy, guidelines and BC's regulations
• Experience in steep slope layout and deflection analysis, SP data collection and drafting, riparian assessments, forest health, surveys.
