Job summary

Stantec seeks a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to design, analyze, and deliver complex fire protection systems for buildings across Canada. You will lead technically, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the growth of the fire protection practice while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role offers a hybrid work environment with office, remote work, and site visits, and requires P.Eng. licensure in Canada and 8+ years of relevant experience. Travel across Canada may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Licensure as P.Eng. in Canada and good standing.
• Minimum 8 years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Experience with institutional, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of fire protection systems for buildings.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and fire hydrant flow analyses.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and reports using BIM/CAD.
• Conduct fire safety code analyses and provide project guidance.
• Mentor junior staff and support practice development.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams through project delivery.
• Conduct field investigations and site visits as required.
