Job summary

Stantec invites a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our national team in Canada. The role focuses on planning, designing, and delivering complex fire protection systems for institutional, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

You will mentor staff and contribute to practice development while collaborating across regions in a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience, a P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• P.Eng. in Canada or eligible for licensure.
• Minimum 8 years of fire protection experience.
• Proven ability to design fire protection systems in institutional, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of fire protection systems meeting safety codes and performance targets.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and code analyses per NFPA, NBCC, and NFCC.
• Prepare drawings, specs, and reports using BIM/CAD tools; review project documentation.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across Canada.
