Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our national team in Canada. You will design, analyze, and deliver complex fire protection systems for institutional, commercial, and industrial projects, mentoring junior staff and guiding technical direction.

The role offers a hybrid work environment with office, remote work, and site visits across Canada. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, leverage NFPA codes and NBCC/NFCC, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related discipline.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada with eligibility for licensure in other jurisdictions.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant fire protection engineering experience.
• Experience delivering projects in institutional, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of fire protection systems for building projects with code compliance and performance.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and fire hydrant flow analysis per NFPA and Canadian codes.
• Prepare drawings, specs, and reports using BIM, CAD, and related tools.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across Canada and supervise project delivery stages.
