Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our national team. You will plan, design, and deliver fire protection systems for institutional, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects across Canada.

This role can be based in Toronto, Ottawa, or Markham with a hybrid work environment combining office collaboration, remote work, and site visits. Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, NBCC/NFCC, and feasibility of multi-region projects is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related field.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada and good standing; licensure in additional jurisdictions as needed.
Minimum of 7 years of fire protection engineering experience.
Experience delivering projects in institutional, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities

Plan, design, and deliver complex fire protection systems for diverse projects.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Canada and internationally.
Review drawings, specs, and project documentation for accuracy and budget adherence.
Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, HydraCAD or similar tools throughout project development.
