The job profile for this position is Financial Analysis Senior Analyst, which is a Band 3 Senior Contributor Career Track Role.
This Senior Financial Analyst role will be supporting the Cigna Canada and all its subsidiaries’ companies in Canada. This role will be providing value-added, in-depth financial analytics for Management and supporting finance functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare and report on financial performance for senior management and Board’s review.
- Prepare monthly reporting packages for financial review discussions.
- Data mining to assist in preparing a comprehensive financial overview.
- Provide value-added financial analysis and financial result dashboards.
- Prepare Regulatory Capital and Investment Analysis.
- Research, monitor and analyze all regulatory, accounting and tax standards.
- Research and report on industry data analysis to management.
- Assist with maintaining supplementary lead schedules.
- Assist with the preparation of plan and forecast.
- Assist in the facilitation of audits with external auditors.
- Assist in maintenance of accounting policies and procedure documentation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirement and internal policies.
- Work with key stakeholders across the organization (e.g. Pricing, Underwriting, Reserving and Claims).
- Assist in finance projects and initiatives as needed.
- Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree and a recognized Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA) is a must.
- Proficiency in report writing and presenting findings (e.g. PowerPoint Presentation).
- Ability to analyze and interpret statistical and financial information.
- 3+ years of progressive work experience in an analytical or auditing function.
- Experience in the financial services industry, preferably regulated (OSFI) insurance experience.
