Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in Mississauga, Ontario is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join a dedicated finance team reporting to the Senior Finance Manager. The role focuses on planning, forecasting, and financial analysis for business units and customers.

You will build P&Ls, drive variance analysis, and prepare presentations for senior leaders. A CPA or MBA and 2–3 years of related experience are preferred, with advanced Excel, SAP, and BI tools familiarization encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business program.
  • Completion of CPA designation or MBA designation, or pursuit of either.
  • Minimum 2–3 years related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SAP, Power BI, Anaplan, HFM, Hyperion Planning and Essbase is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual planning and forecasting activities.
  • Build and maintain customer / business unit P&Ls and determine price, volume, mix and cost components that explain variances to budget, forecast and prior year.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly analysis.
  • Provide Senior Finance leaders with a recap of actual results with detailed analysis.
  • Identify and communicate financial/operational trends with significant impact to the business.
  • Issue routine reporting and tracking of detailed financial information.
  • Prepare financial presentations and reports for senior leadership, highlighting key findings.
  • Provide ad hoc support and strategic recommendations to influence leadership decisions.
  • Develop and implement improvements to business processes and tools.
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Get To Do

  • Provide ad hoc support and analysis, inclusive of strategic findings and recommendations, to Finance and Operations organizations to drive decision making for the leadership team
  • Develop and implement improvements to business processes and tools

Who You Are
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Business program
  • Completion of CPA designation or MBA degree, or pursual of either designation(s)
  • Minimum 2-3 years related experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate and summarize financial information for accuracy and conformance to procedures and regulations
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint, experience with SAP, Power BI, Anaplan, HFM, and Hyperion Planning and Essbase are beneficial.
  • Well organized with analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High energy/self-motivation
  • Able to adapt with change and work under pressure in a detailed, accurate, and deadline-based environment

  • Anticipated compensation for this role is $85,000-$90,000 in annual base salary. Salary is based on market location, and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
