Our extensive infrastructure network throughout western Canada and North Dakota includes Waste Management Facilities, Industrial Landfills, Pipeline Operations, Metals & Mining, and Specialty Chemicals. Our Energy Infrastructure includes Blending & Facility Supply and Trading & Storage.

Your Opportunity at SECURE
As our Senior Financial Accountant, you will assist with accounting and finance activities for the division. The ideal candidate will be driven, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. This role is based in Calgary, Alberta.

A Day in The Life

1. Oversee/assist in daily accounting and finance activities
2. Assist in month-end close activities
3. Support interim and year-end audits, including preparing schedules and explaining variances
4. Implement process improvements
5. Support monthly financial reporting and analysis
6. Provide financial support to stakeholders
7. Lead/support projects like IFRS implementation and internal controls
8. Prepare ad-hoc financial reports

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience
• CPA designation required
• Experience in a public accounting firm preferred
• Strong IFRS knowledge
• Understanding of internal controls and testing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Team-oriented mindset
• Advanced Excel skills

Assets

• Oil and gas industry experience (asset, not required)
• Knowledge of D365, Solver, PowerBI
• Adaptability in fast-paced environments
