Job summary

MNP in Red Deer is seeking a Manager to lead Farm Management Consulting engagements, delivering strategic planning, feasibility studies and value-driven transformations for diverse clients in agriculture and related sectors.

You will translate client needs into practical, actionable plans, design operating models, manage budgets and teams, and foster long-term relationships across private, public, not-for-profit, and Indigenous sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in business, economics, political science or related field.
• 5 years of business consulting experience, ideally focused on transformation, operational improvement, and/or value creation.
• CMC, PMP, Lean or related certifications are assets.
• Demonstrates a strong modelling (operational, financial) background.
• Experience in agriculture environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the proposal, planning and delivery of consulting engagements with a focus on strategy and planning services in the private, public, not-for-profit and Indigenous sectors
• Execute business planning, feasibility studies, strategic planning, operational planning, program review, program re-designs, financial analysis and other forms of management consulting
• Understand and translate customer needs into a practical business solution to enable long-term success
• Design new business processes and operating models based on customer requirements and conduct user review sessions and run stakeholder agreement meetings
• Manage engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)
• Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure needs are met and relationships grow and develop
• Monitor progress, manage risk and confirm key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.
• Generate new business opportunities and develop long-term client relationships and networks
• Consult with clients to understand the impact of disruption on the work, worker and workplace and help them define their ambition and strategy for transforming the workplace of the future.
• Review, design and develop high-quality deliverables including reports, presentations and other correspondence
• Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the client’s business
• Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs
• Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews
• Identify and solve problems using analysis, experience and judgement and provide meaningful solutions and expertise.
• Organize and communicate information in compelling ways, including developing deliverables and facilitating meetings and working sessions
• Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
