Job summary

EllisDon is seeking a Senior Estimator in Canada to lead bid teams on challenging ICI projects, assemble comprehensive estimates for hard-bid, design-build, and CM contracts, and coordinate with sub-trades to secure strong bids. You will monitor project costs, maintain data on labour and material pricing, and work with management to align bids with corporate objectives.

A construction degree and 8–10 years of estimating experience are required, along with AutoCAD proficiency and clearance

• Construction-related degree/diploma and 8–10 years of estimating ICI projects.
• Experience with P3, Design Build, Design Build Facilities Management, Lump Sum, and Construction Management contracts.
• Ability to work autonomously, while providing updates and following EllisDon procedures.

• Assemble accurate, timely and well-organized estimates including hard-bid, construction management and design-build.
• Organize sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful and assist the buy-out process.
• Monitor the success of a project, identifying challenges and maintaining relationships with sub-trades for future opportunities.
• Distribute sub-trade quotes to personnel and coordinate with management to address bid price risks.

You as a Senior Estimator will:

• Confidently lead a team through the completion of a bid process under pressure while building strong relationships with sub-trades
• Assemble accurate, timely and well organized estimates, including hard-bid, construction management and design-build
• Organize sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful, re-writing binders and assisting the buy-out process
• Monitor the success of a project, noting potential challenges and building relationships with sub-trades for future opportunities
• Distribute sub-trade quotes to personnel, flagging areas of concern and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the bid price
• Maintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing and project costs, for future reference

You have:

• You have a construction-related degree/diploma and a minimum of eight to ten years of estimating ICI projects
• Ability to use AutoCad is an asset
• You have a working knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts
• Estimating experience in P3, Design Build, Design Build Facilities Management, Lump Sum, and Construction Management contracts is essential
• You have the ability to work effectively and accurately in time-sensitive situations within a team
• Be comfortable working autonomously, while providing updates when needed, and following EllisDon procedures at all times
• Must be eligible for Reliability Clearance

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $135,000
