Job summary

EllisDon in Vancouver seeks a Senior Estimator to lead bid teams on complex ICI projects. You will drive the bid process and ensure accurate, well‑documented estimates.

You’ll mentor junior staff, assemble estimates covering hard-bid, CM and design-build, and coordinate subcontractor quotes and buy-out activities. This role emphasizes collaboration and meticulous cost tracking.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in ICI estimating or equivalent
• Advanced knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating and contracts
• Ability to work in time‑sensitive situations while delegating to a team
• Strong communication skills and ability to mentor staff
• Experience using takeoff software CostX or BlueBeam

You as a Senior Estimator will:

• Confidently lead a team through the completion of a bid process under pressure
• mentor and train junior estimating staff
• Assemble accurate, timely and well-organized estimates, including hard-bid, construction management and design-build
• Organize sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful, re‑writing binders and assisting the buy‑out process
• Monitor the success of a project, noting potential challenges and building relationships with sub‑trades for future opportunities
• Distribute sub‑trade quotes to personnel, flagging areas of concern and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the bid price
• Maintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs, for future reference

Is this the right role for you?

• 10+ years of experience in ICI estimating or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
• You have an advanced knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts as well as conceptual estimating and unit costs
• You have the ability to work effectively and accurately in time-sensitive situations while delegating to a team
• You have the ability to work independently & have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively.
• You have experience using various takeoff software, specifically either CostX or BlueBeam.

The salary range for this is $150,000 - $180,000
