Reporting to the Director, Planning & Operations, the Senior Demand Planner will be responsible for all forecasting and demand planning activities for the products and distributed brands of the company in international markets. The Senior Demand Planner creates and maintains forecast models, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, brand buyers, and other sources such as industry report data. This role will develop and continuously improve demand planning practices for new markets. This role conducts analytical research on product inventory levels to identify opportunities for improvements to inventory levels to improve inventory capital performance.

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Develop high-level demand forecasts with supporting multiple level aggregation for various time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
  2. Review historical sales trend data, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  3. Align inventory planning with supply chain constraints and demand variability.
  4. Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions and results.
  5. Interact with sales, marketing, finance, product teams, and lead retailers to understand demand forecast drivers.
  6. Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product teams to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  7. Initiate and implement continuous improvements to demand planning and the S&OP processes.
  8. Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
  9. Provide input to the Supply Planning teams in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  10. Conduct statistical analysis on current inventory positions to identify opportunities to improve working capital inventory performance.
  11. Go to market: identify inventory surplus, demand changes, and inventory-driven sales opportunities and provide details to divisional leaders for market initiatives.
  12. Qualifications

  • Five+ years of experience in global demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management, with a focus on leading demand planning initiatives across multiple regions.
  • A/B/S college degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management or related disciplines. Masters preferred.
  • Expert proficiency in MS Excel, MS Power BI, and forecasting tools and software.
  • PICS or other forecasting certification preferred.
  • Continuous improvement certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) preferred.
  • Proven proficiency in statistics, forecasting methods on large data sets, with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
  • Knowledge of demand planning software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all teams and levels of the business affecting the forecast process.
  • Experience in Outdoor Sports categories is a benefit.

Pay Range: $61,600.00-$84,700.00 per year
