Join a purpose-driven, results-oriented, inclusive, and high-performing culture.

To ensure our purpose remains central, we have rebranded our role to Financial Planners under Scotia Financial Planning (formerly ‘Investment Specialist’ in the Mobile Advice Team). Join a purpose-driven, results-oriented, inclusive, and high-performing culture!

As a Financial Planner, your focus will be on developing and deepening client relationships by providing high-quality advice and service within the mass affluent market. You are entrepreneurial, understanding that growing a practice involves building long-term relationships, leveraging external networks, and welcoming the freedom to grow your practice. Your clients are your greatest asset, and your priority is to provide investment and financial planning advice to meet their unique goals.

You excel at building new relationships and enjoy the flexibility to meet clients outside the office at times that suit both parties. You also value working within a collective Scotiabank framework that benefits both your clients and your practice.

Following a comprehensive financial planning framework, you will be responsible for driving investment sales and acquiring new clients, while adhering to Global Sales Principles, compliance, and regulatory requirements. You will also establish business development opportunities within your assigned market area.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Promote the development and sustainable growth of proprietary investment business by:

  • Business Development: Executing business development plans for prospects and existing clients within the mass affluent market. Identifying additional investment opportunities and facilitating the implementation of investment solutions or referrals to appropriate partners.
  • Client-Centric Approach: Providing client-centric investment solutions via a financial planning framework, conducting outbound communications, proactive calling, and needs analysis across financial statements.
  • Community Involvement: Participating in local professional and community events, delivering information sessions and seminars, building a market profile, and networking with industry specialists while managing a marketing budget.

Do you have the skills to succeed? - We’d Love To Work With You If You Have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in financial planning and investment sales.
  • Current MFDA licensing and accreditation (Investments Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).
  • A Personal Financial Planning (PFP) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
  • Proven networking, client acquisition, and interpersonal skills; experience with Centres of Influence (COIs).
  • Goal-oriented, entrepreneurial, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Extensive knowledge of market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory environment.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to meet clients within the district.

What’s in it for you?

  • An entrepreneurial culture with career development opportunities.
  • A fast-paced, flexible work environment with self-set hours and client meetings at convenient times.
  • A compensation structure rewarding client acquisition and retention.
  • Access to advanced resources, including marketing support, mobile technology, CRM, and financial planning software.
  • The opportunity to build lasting client relationships through exceptional service.
  • Partnerships with branches and Scotia Global Asset Management to enhance client experience.
  • A diverse, respectful, and inclusive work culture.
