Job summary

Intact seeks a Senior Data Developer (Engineer) to establish the data foundation for Contact Distributor, Intact’s new master data platform for brokers and distributor hierarchies. You’ll join a cross-functional team to profile, cleanse, migrate and integrate legacy data from mainframes and Excel sources, embedding data quality, governance and reliability from day one.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering / software engineering; 3+ years in a senior or lead role.
• Proven experience designing, building and running production ETL/ELT pipelines at scale (batch and incremental)
• Demonstrated experience migrating data from legacy/mainframe or packaged systems
• Excellent SQL and relational data modeling skills (hierarchies, historization)
• Strong programming skills in Python or Java for data pipelines, plus AWS
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, version control (Git), automated data testing and observability
• Demonstrated initiative and leadership: able to challenge, influence and bring others along
• No Canadian work experience required? candidates must be authorized to work in Canada; bilingualism in French and English for Quebec role

Responsibilities

• Co-design and implement the target data model with the Data Architect and govern multi-level hierarchies
• Design, build and operate batch and incremental ETL/ELT pipelines on AWS
• Lead extraction, profiling, cleansing, normalization, match/merge and reconciliation
• Turn business rules into automated data quality controls and ensure lineage, cataloging, security
• Publish trusted data to downstream consumers and collaborate with backend team
• Implement unit, integration and automated data tests and apply CI/CD
• Provide technical guidance and participate in design discussions and sprint planning
