Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation is seeking a Senior Data Developer (Engineer) to establish the data foundation for Contact Distributor, Intact’s new platform for broker and distributor master data. The platform will replace fragmented legacy sources with a trusted, governed view of brokerages and hierarchies.

You will lead profiling, cleansing, migrating and integrating legacy data, embedding data quality and governance from day one within a cross-functional product team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data/software engineering, including 3+ years in senior or lead roles.
• Proven experience designing, building and running production ETL/ELT pipelines at scale.
• Experience migrating data from legacy/mainframe or packaged systems.
• Excellent SQL and relational data modeling skills, including historization.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Java for data pipelines and AWS ecosystem.
• CI/CD, version control, automated data testing and observability.
• Authorized to work in Canada; bilingualism in French and English is required for Quebec.

Responsibilities

• Data Modeling: co-design and implement multi-level hierarchies with audit/versioning.
• ETL/ELT Development: build and operate batch and incremental pipelines on AWS.
• Data Migration: lead extraction, cleansing, normalization, match/merge and cutover.
• Data Quality & Governance: automate data quality controls and ensure lineage and security.
• Integration: publish trusted data to downstream consumers and legacy systems.
• Quality & DevOps: implement tests, CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
• Leadership & Collaboration: guide best practices and communicate with stakeholders.
