Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Montreal is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator / Cost Management Consultant with 5+ years of experience to lead cost estimates from concept through execution and to guide cost control and value optimization on major projects.

The ideal candidate will analyze bids, negotiate for best value, support life‑cycle costing and sustainability decisions, and collaborate with project teams to deliver accurate reports, risk analysis, and proactive cost management across the project

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cost estimating experience across all project phases.
• Experience in cost management or project controls, preferably in construction.
• Membership in CIQS, RICS, or AEECQ is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of cost estimating tools and software.
• Good understanding of contract administration, procurement and purchasing processes.
• Fluent in French (spoken and written) with strong English communication.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost estimates from conceptual phase through execution.
• Analyze bids and proposals to ensure best value for clients.
• Apply negotiation techniques and strategies.
• Participate in value engineering discussions for effective solutions.
• Provide advice on life-cycle costing and sustainability considerations.
• Conduct benchmarking analyses to validate costs and establish targets.
• Support project budget monitoring and cost control activities.
• Prepare, review, and administer tenders, contracts, and purchase orders.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure cost and schedule management and deliverables.
