Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Cost Manager with 10+ years of experience to lead post-contract cost control across multiple design packages. You will own change control, advise on funding, and perform tender reviews to ensure governance and budget alignment.

You will participate in programme cash flow forecasts, attend client meetings, and deliver cost reports with EAC, WIP, and variance tracking. You will mentor junior staff and liaise with the client to manage cost-related matters.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of cost management experience.
• Degree in a relevant subject (with Canadian equivalency if obtained outside Canada).
• Membership in CIQS or a similar professional body.

Responsibilities

• Lead post-contract cost control for architectural, civil and structural packages.
• Own change control and advise on funding by budget, contingency, risk or escalation.
• Undertake tender reviews for governance, contractual and budget alignment.
• Contribute to programme cash flow forecasts and schedule dynamics.
• Attend client and stakeholder meetings in person.
• Provide cost reports with estimates at completion, early warnings, cash flows and variance tracking.
• Support risk reviews and quantification with the project team.
• Assist cost estimates, value engineering and cost planning across all phases.
• Act as primary client liaison for cost-related matters.
• Mentor and support junior cost consultants and project team members.

As aSenior Cost Manager, you will be involved in:

• Lead theArchitectural, Civil and Structuralpost contract cost control of several design packages
• Take ownership ofchangecontrol and advise stakeholders on fundingwhether in-budget, contingency,riskor escalation
• Undertake tender reviews for governance, contractual andbudget alignment
• Participate in programme wide periodic cash flow forecasts, adapting to dynamicschedules and scope
• Participate, in-person, in meetings with the clientand various other stakeholders
• Provide periodiccost / project reports incorporating estimates at completion, early warnings, cashflows and variance tracking
• Support the Project Managerin risk reviews and risk quantification
• Supportthe preparation and management of cost estimates, valueengineeringand cost planningacross all project phases
• Act as the primary client liaison for all cost-related matters
• Mentor and support junior cost consultants and project team members

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in cost management
• A recognized university degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subjectwith Canadian equivalency if obtained outside Canada (WES etc.)
• Membership of Relevant Professional Organizations such as the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS)or similar
• Reliability clearance with the Government of Canada or ability to obtain itquickly
• Demonstratable experience on at least two projects that have a total value of $100M+

The base salary for the full-time Cost Consultant role is CAD $110,000 - 140,000. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
