Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. in Canada seeks a Superintendent for major civil projects in dense urban environments. You will ensure on-schedule delivery, safety, quality and workmanship, leading foremen and on-site crews.

You will manage unions and coordinate with owners, consultants and subcontractors, while upholding Aecon's safety and quality programs. The role may require weekend or night shifts and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience on major projects (transit preferred).
• 8+ years of supervisory experience in construction.
• Experience with concrete works, utilities, shoring and/or shafts excavation.
• Experience managing projects ranging from $100M to $500M.
• Strong knowledge of OH&S legislation and safety processes.
• Ability to work weekends and/or night shifts.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain site layout and develop plan for logistics around work areas.
• Lead on-site works by enforcing safety policies.
• Prepare Work Plans, Method Statements and Lift Plans for lifting operations.
• Serve as site authority ensuring works follow Drawings and Plans.
• Supervise, coordinate and monitor workforce within scope.
• Maintain relations with unions and address disputes.
• Develop relationships with owners, consultants and subcontractors.
• Ensure Aecon safety program and quality plans are followed; comply with regulations.
• Accountable for compliance with union agreements.
• Perform other duties as required.
