Job summary

Canada Life is seeking a seasoned in-house compensation expert to lead advisory services for client portfolios in Canada. You will guide complex pay decisions, partner with HR and senior leaders, and deliver data-driven recommendations balancing market competitiveness, internal equity, and governance.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a related discipline.
• 7+ years of progressive compensation experience with advising senior leaders.
• CCP or CHRL designation or progress toward either is preferred.
• Strong strategic compensation advisory capabilities to HRBPs and leaders.
• Knowledge of compensation principles, market benchmarking, governance & job evaluation.
• Ability to interpret data and translate insights into practical recommendations.
• High integrity, discretion, and judgment with confidential information.
• Excellent consultation and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day non-executive compensation advisory services for assigned portfolios and partners with HR, Talent Acquisition, and senior leaders.
• Understand client businesses and priorities to deliver credible compensation advice and reviews.
• Participate in salary surveys and analyze market data to identify best practices.
• Collaborate on job architecture topics including job evaluation and levels.
• Prepare and present compensation analyses, reports, dashboards, and insights for decisions.
• Support annual compensation cycles and coordinate with Centres of Excellence for program administration.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and innovative solutions in compensation programs.
