Job summary

Axis Insurance Managers Inc. in Canada seeks a Commercial Insurance Manager to lead the BSAA team, manage client accounts, and coordinate with underwriters to secure optimal terms.

You will oversee staff performance, workflow efficiency, and account allocation, while maintaining strong client service and renewal processes; a RIBO license and 7+ years of commercial insurance experience are required, with flexible, hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years Commercial insurance experience, consistently meeting internal core competencies.
• RIBO license (Ontario) or equivalent license in the individual’s province of residence, with ability to obtain BC license.
• CAIB, CIP, CRM or other insurance designations are assets.
• Experience using EPIC broker management system is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with HR recruitment to develop and attract skilled BSAA staff.
• Act as liaison between direct reports and Account Executives for issue resolution.
• Perform staff performance evaluations and provide recommendations.
• Approve and monitor department vacation, sick and remote workdays; report quarterly to Director.
• Develop workflow systems to efficiently manage workload of Commercial Insurance team.
• Allocate Commercial Lines accounts for marketing and administration to maximize efficiency.
• Lead monthly round tables and coordinate with directors on initiatives.
• Provide ongoing client servicing, renewals support, and cross-border coverage considerations.
• Engage with underwriters and clients on submissions, pricing, and policy wording reviews.
