Job summary

Sleep Country Canada is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to ensure reliability, performance, and security of a multi‑cloud environment. The role blends hands‑on engineering with strategic problem solving to design, build, and optimize cloud systems.

You will design cloud infrastructure, implement automation, and participate in on‑call rotations while driving continuous improvement and cost optimization across cloud operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive IT infrastructure/cloud engineering experience.
• Deep knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Familiarity with Terraform/CloudFormation for provisioning cloud resources.
• Strong problem-solving and incident management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Implement configurations for compute, storage, networking, and cloud services.
• Monitor systems, perform root-cause analysis, and remediation.
• Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support.
• Develop automation scripts and CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments.
• Use IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) for provisioning.
• Improve operational playbooks and runbooks for cloud ops.
• Ensure security/compliance controls in cloud environments.
