Job summary

Jobgether in Canada is seeking a Senior DevOps Developer to design, build, and operate scalable cloud-native services across a distributed engineering environment. You will own reliability, observability, and automation, shaping CI/CD practices and robust deployment processes.

You will collaborate with infrastructure and software teams to improve performance, security, and developer productivity, contributing to resilience and on-call support for critical production systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production experience with large-scale cloud infrastructure, with strong preference for AWS.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in SRE/DevOps.
• Solid understanding of DevOps practices, architectures, methodologies, and cloud-native app development.
• Hands-on AWS experience (Step Functions, IAM, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda).
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Scripting proficiency (Python, JavaScript, or Linux shell).
• Experience with SaaS databases (MongoDB Atlas, DynamoDB, Redshift).
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Chef, Ansible).
• Proven ability to design CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI, Spinnaker).
• Strong communication and collaboration across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve cloud infrastructure for reliability, security, and efficiency.
• Own service reliability by defining and refining SLO/SLI targets and monitoring health.
• Lead incident management, reviews, chaos testing, and post-incident analysis.
• Automate deployments and operations with scripts and tooling.
• Manage cloud-native environments: Kubernetes, AWS, containers, SaaS databases.
• Improve observability with monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Coordinate major upgrades while minimizing downtime.
• Maintain security and compliance across systems and processes.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and prevent recurrence.
• Contribute to technical strategy and scalable engineering solutions.
• Provide on-call support for critical production services.
• Work independently and with distributed teams and stakeholders.
