Job summary

Intact Insurance in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking an experienced Property Senior Adjuster to guide complex residential claims through to settlement. You will work with vendors, field adjusters and experts, applying empathy, sound judgment and strong organizational skills to manage diverse files.

The role supports a hybrid work model with potential adjustments for candidates located in British Columbia or nearby regions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of property claims-handling experience, including major-loss residential files.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to handle complex claims with empathy.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze information, interpret policy wordings, determine coverage and assess damage on complex residential losses.
• Develop action plans to ensure all aspects of the claim are addressed.
• Manage financial components of the claim, including reserves and settlements per policy.
• Provide clear direction to vendors and collaborate with experts to progress claims.
• Deliver superior customer service to external and internal customers throughout the process.

Salary range (but not limited to): 80,700 - 98,700

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

As a Property Senior Adjuster , you will work with customers who have experienced a loss to their personal property, helping them through the claims process. Working with vendors, field adjusters, and other experts, you will demonstrate empathy, strong listening skills, business acumen, and organizational effectiveness as you manage a wide variety of claims through completion.

What you'll do here:

• Analyze information gathered, interpret insurance policy wordings, determine coverage, and assess damage on complex residential total losses or complex scope-and-repair claims.
• Develop an action plan to ensure all aspects of the claim are addressed.
• Manage all financial components of the claim, including setting reserves and ensuring prompt and equitable settlements in line with Intact's policies and standards.
• Ensure clear and concise information and direction are provided to vendors.
• Work with experts, including consultants, appraisers, engineers, and others, to help drive progress throughout the claim.
• Provide superior customer service to external and internal customers, and answer queries related to the claims process.
• Keep up-to-date on Intact's insurance products, appraisal and investigation techniques, and service standards.
• Consideration will be given to the offering of a hybrid field adjuster role, or limited office attendance based on business needs for successful candidates located in British Columbia more than 2 hours away from an Intact office.
