Job summary

Intact is hiring a Property Claims Specialist in Canada. You will work with customers who experienced losses to their personal property, guiding claims through completion with empathy and strong organizational skills.

The role involves analyzing policy coverage, coordinating with vendors and experts, and managing financial aspects of the claim. A hybrid work model and competitive compensation are offered.

• Catastrophe experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Analyze information gathered, interpret policy wordings, determine coverage, and assess damage on complex residential losses.
• Develop an action plan to ensure all aspects of the claim are addressed.
• Manage all financial components, including setting reserves and settlements per policy.
• Provide clear and concise information to vendors and coordinate with experts.
• Work with consultants, appraisers, engineers and others to drive progress on the claim.
• Deliver superior customer service to external and internal customers.

Salary range (but not limited to):

94,200 - 115,200

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

As a Property Claims Specialist , you will work with customers who have experienced a loss to their personal property, helping them through the claims process. Working with vendors, field adjusters, and other experts, you will demonstrate empathy, strong listening skills, business acumen, and organizational effectiveness as you manage a wide variety of claims through completion.

What you’ll do here:

• Analyze information gathered, interpret insurance policy wordings, determine coverage, and assess damage on complex residential total losses or complex scope-and-repair claims.
• Develop an action plan to ensure all aspects of the claim are addressed.
• Manage all financial components of the claim, including setting reserves and ensuring prompt and equitable settlements in line with Intact’s policies and standards.
• Ensure clear and concise information and direction are provided to vendors.
• Work with experts, including consultants, appraisers, engineers, and others, to help drive progress throughout the claim.
• Provide superior customer service to external and internal customers, and answer queries related to the claims process.
• Keep up-to-date on Intact’s insurance products, appraisal and investigation techniques, and service standards.
• Consideration will be given to the offering of a hybrid field adjuster role, or limited office attendance based on business needs for successful candidates located in British Columbia more than 2 hours away from an Intact office.
