Job summary

Gallagher Bassett Canada is seeking a Senior Claims Adjuster to oversee investigation, evaluation, disposition, and settlement of diverse claims. You will handle General Liability, Product Liability, and Auto Bodily Injury, negotiating settlements within authority and interpreting supporting documents.

Requirements include a high school diploma with 5 years claims experience; CIP, C11/C12/C14/C110 licensing progress; licensure across provinces you handle. Bilingual English/French is a plus.

• CIP completion, or C11, C12, C14, C110 minimum and in progress with minimum courses for licensing.
• Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all provinces in which claims are being handled.

Overview

Poised for aggressive growth, there has never been a better time to be part of the Gallagher Bassett Canada team. We have a full-time job opening as a Senior claims adjuster. Responsible for the investigation, evaluation, disposition and settlement of claims. In this position, you will be handling any of the following types of losses ~ General liability claims, Product liability claims, Auto Bodily injury.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices.
• Analytical skills necessary to make decisions and resolve issues inherent in the handling of claims.
• Ability to successfully negotiate the settlement and disposition of claims including the ability to interpret related documentation.
• Negotiate with solicitors and directly with parties to resolve claims within authority granted.
• Understanding of various jurisdical legal processes.
• Ability to identify potential litigation and non-litigation strategies and determine the best course of action.
• Experience in mediations, pre-trial conferences and other procedures, negotiations and settlements required to bring the claim to resolution.
• Analyze relevant policies to determine coverage available. Identify the allegations and assess coverage to determine the extent to which coverage may apply to the claim.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing environment.
• Time management skills
• Strong Organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as demonstrated by your ability to convey information professionally.
• Both French and English would be an asset.
• Handles claims consistent with our clients and corporate policies, procedures and "Best Practices" and in accordance to any statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office programs, like Word, Excel and PowerPoint

About You

Exceptional customer services skills required

High school diploma and 5 years related claims experience required.

CIP completion, or C11, C12, C14, C110 minimum and in progress with minimum courses for licensing.

Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all provinces in which claims are being handled or able to obtain the licenses/certification per local requirements.

Extensive knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices.

Computer experience with related claims and business software.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
