Beacon Community Services in Victoria, BC invites you to join as a Health Care Assistant. Help provide daily living support and companionship in a home-like setting as part of a newly formed team under BC’s care model.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care and mobility, meals, meds reminders, and documenting health changes. This is a regular shift; candidates should be caring, reliable, and team-oriented.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant program.
• Registered with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
• First Aid & CPR Level C, FoodSafe Level 1
• Experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home support
• Respectful, compassionate, and patient approach.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Physically able to perform lifting, transfers, and other duties.

Responsibilities

• Help residents with daily living activities (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting).
• Support safe mobility, transfers, and use of lifts/assistive devices.
• Assist with meals, hydration, and comfort routines.
• Support resident laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and returning personal items as needed.
• Facilitate recreational and social activities.
• Provide medication reminders and support self-administration.
• Observe and report changes in resident health or behaviour.
• Keep rooms and equipment clean and safe.
• Participate in team meetings and respond to emergencies.
• Other duties as required
