Job summary

49North, a Canadian defence company and subsidiary of MDA Space, seeks a senior Defence Capture Manager to lead strategic opportunities, including $100M+ pursuits, and drive price-to-win strategies.

You will coordinate with Business Development, Engineering and executives, ensure compliant, winning proposals, and align industrial benefits with national priorities while maintaining security clearances.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in aerospace/defence with 5+ years in senior defence management or capture roles.
• Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical/business education.
• Advanced degrees in engineering and/or business administration are assets.
• 5+ years of RCAF fighter aircraft training/operations experience is preferred.
• Experience with CFB Cold Lake and/or Bagotville is an asset.
• Strong written and verbal English; French a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic project capture management for high value opportunities ($100M+).
• Develop and execute capture plans, win themes, and value propositions.
• Architect deal structures and price-to-win models across contracts.
• Collaborate with BD, Engineering and business leads to deliver compliant, winning solutions.
• Lead reviews (Black Hat, Blue Team, Red Team) and support pricing.
• Identify and negotiate teaming agreements; align with Defence Industrial Strategy.
• Brief executive leadership on pursuit status, risks and probability of win.
• Ensure smooth handoff to program execution including plan, cost, schedule, and goals.
• Provide RCAF operational expertise to bid and engineering teams.
