Responsibilities

• Verify and authorize Purchase Orders.
• Negotiate and manage contracts (Steel, Parts in Assembly, Stores Materials).
• Identify and develop supplier services and new sources of supply.
• Maintain vendor files, purchase price, price fluctuations and quality records.
• Visit suppliers/customers annually to assess facilities and quality, cost trends and lead times.
• Certify and approve quality levels of purchased products.
• Interface with customers/vendors on plant operations.
• Train other employees as required.
• In supervisor's absence, run the department effectively.
