Job summary

Tsubaki of Canada Limited in Mississauga is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage purchasing of finished goods, negotiate pricing, and analyze inventory to support forecast accuracy. The role requires data entry and PO creation in QAD/MFG Pro, as well as proactive supplier engagement.

You will expedite orders, maintain safety stock across Canadian sites, and collaborate with Sales to meet customer forecasts while ensuring on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

• Data entry and generation of purchase orders for finished products from multiple suppliers in QAD/MFG Pro; retrieve drawings/technical info as needed.
• Update MRP/Excess reports daily; maintain PO data entry, transmission, revisions, and filing.
• Expedite open purchase orders from suppliers.
• Data entry of finished goods inventory receiving and generating receiving records for finance/applications.
• Maintain safety levels on inventoried items for all Canadian sites.
• Collaborate with Sales to meet forecasted customer requirements and update delivery information.
• Communicate with suppliers (US and Japanese parent) for pricing quotations on special items.
• Negotiate better pricing and delivery terms where possible.
• Interact with Sales on cost vs selling prices and supplier availability as alternatives to designated supplier.
• Coordinate with Freight Forwarders and ensure timely documentation to maintain supply chain flow; adjust as needed.
• Maintain master purchase price list on the QAD/MFG Pro system for finished goods inventory items.
• Match and file supplier confirmations with original purchase orders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary

Tsubaki of Canada Limited is looking for a Senior Buyer who is able to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks at the same time. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills and inventory analysis experience to develop comprehensive reports.

This role is a full-time permanent opportunity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for data entry and generating purchase orders of finished products from various suppliers as required per QAD/MFG Pro (MRP). Requires the sending and retrieving of drawings and/or other Technical information.
• MRP/Excess reports updated daily. Purchase order data entry, transmission and revisions and document filing for finished product. Low Inventory report of A & B items run weekly.
• Expedite open purchase orders from individual suppliers.
• Data entry of finished goods inventory receiving and generating receiving records for finance & accounting purposes.
• Continuing maintenance on Safety levels on all inventoried items for all Canadian Sites.
• Collaborate with Sales team on inventory levels that are required to satisfy a customers’ particular requirement and ensure product is in-house to meet forecast. Provide Sales team with updated delivery information on all customer orders when notified from supplier.
• Communicate with suppliers (primarily our US Sister Company & Japanese Parent Company) on special items (i.e. special customer orders) in order to obtain pricing quotation information.
• Negotiate better pricing & delivery when applicable.
• Interact with Sales team on matters relating to costs versus selling prices, availability from approved suppliers as alternative to designated supplier.
• Interact with Freight Forwarders, providing all necessary documentation in a timely fashion as to not interrupt supply chain flow. Work together on any changes, etc., that may need to be done to improve delivery.
• Maintenance of master purchase price list on QAD/MFG Pro system for finished goods inventory items.
• Match and file supplier confirmation documents (and other related documents) with original purchase orders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

• Purchasing experience within an ERP environment will be an asset.
