Job summary

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma.
• Five to ten+ years in a progressive Purchasing Department (Tier 1 automotive preferred).
• Strong computer skills (MS Office; ERP systems such as CMS, SAP).
• Demonstrated cost savings projects across multiple commodities.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% and for international travel.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes bidding, negotiation, and pricing strategies to provide a competitive advantage.
• Prepares RFQ/Bid packages for diverse commodities including raw material, tooling, and MRO.
• Reviews quotes, analyzes costs, and recommends suppliers based on target pricing.
• Identifies cost saving opportunities with the supply base to meet targets.
• Establishes supply chains to ensure continuous delivery of components and tooling.
• Negotiate and execute contracts per Magna policies and government regulations.
• Conducts supplier audits and supports supplier quality activities as needed.
