Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to assist in the development of plans and accurate estimates for completion of requirement work packages. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in the role:
- Facilitate collaborative sessions with diverse business stakeholder groups to drive requirements discovery, analysis, and review
- Assist in the development of plans and accurate estimates for completion of requirement work packages
- Lead requirements prioritization, data analysis and document detailed data mapping requirements.
- Verify requirements for quality and validate requirements with the impacted stakeholders
- Support Business and IT program management team as required by ensuring priorities are understood and IT teams are equipped with detailed information in order to develop and test solutions effectively and as per expectations
- Ensure all IT development is properly tested; Reviewing UAT test cases completed by IT and execute BAT test cases, and by providing requirements clarifications and root-cause analysis
- Minor data backfill responsibilities to support overall IT migration plan.
Must Have Skills:
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business System Analyst with a proven ability to articulate complex requirements and functionality to business and IT stakeholders
- Ability to complete comprehensive GAP analysis
- Experience in data mapping between systems for large migration initiative
- Experience in the application of Agile methodology
- Undergraduate degree with a focus in Economics, Accounting, Finance or other quantitative fields
- Ability to collect, analyse, interpret and query data using excel and SQL
- Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a logical mind-set
- Excellent communication skills – clear and concise oral, written and presentation abilities
- Inherent sense of ownership and initiative
- Proven relationship-building skills to create, maintain and enhance relationships with internal and/or external partners
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- An understanding of corporate lending processes
- A love of innovation and technology
Soft Skills Required:
- Excellent communication, active listening, teamwork, adaptability
