A growing local Vineyard and Farm Management operation in the Niagara area has an opening for an Accountant / Bookkeeper to start immediately. This is a stand-alone position and requires being in the office Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for oversight of all company payroll and accounts payable processing.
- Handling government remittance and filings including WSIB, EHT, PD7A's, T4's, HST, ROE's.
- Performing bank reconciliations and cash management for multiple companies.
- Processing journal entries and inter-company accounts and transfers.
- Providing clerical and administrative support to management as requested.
- Assisting with government grant applications.
- General bookkeeping functions for all companies, including year-end file/documentation preparation (Financial Statements).
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience with QuickBooks Online, plus:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- At least 2 years of accounting/finance/payroll experience dealing with multiple small companies.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Intermediate knowledge of payroll processing programs, legislation, reporting, and contractual language.
- Understanding of accounting fundamentals, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgets, and year-end preparation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
