Our Owen Sound office is currently seeking a Sr. Accountant , reporting to the firm’s partners. Work from Home / Remote : Hybrid work from home

Wage : $65,000 - $85,000 (with flexibility based on the level of experience)

This role is a hybrid work-from-home position. Candidates must be available to travel during the week to the Owen Sound, Ontario office located at 945 3rd Avenue East for critical meetings as required.

Your primary responsibilities will include :

• Compilation and review of client information and working paper file preparation
• Year-end planning for various clients
• Supervising engagements and related tax filings within a paperless office environment
• Completion of assurance engagements with teams of 1 – 4 team members
• Identification of KPIs through technology
• Identifying and resolving engagement issues
• Training and mentoring junior staff on engagements
• Preparation of Notice to Reader and Review Engagement reports
• Preparation of personal tax returns
• Ensuring the clients’ satisfaction with the firm’s services
• Providing timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations
• Identifying and cultivating new service or tax planning opportunities for clients

A successful candidate will have :

• A college or university degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in public accounting or a similar finance role
• CPA designation or in progress would be considered a strong asset
• Experience managing large engagements
• Tech savvy; proven technical skills in accounting
• In-depth working knowledge of accounting and tax
• Sound working knowledge of accounting principles
• Advanced accounting, tax, and software knowledge, i.e. : Tax Prep, CaseWare, Sage and QuickBooks
• Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
