The role will provide standard daily SAP system support (ECC PI BI / BOBJ Portal Solman etc.) and act as SME support DBA within a wider team of DBA compute and storage specialists. Primary skills are Oracle Database Administration with opportunities to expand into multiple database technologies like Oracle and DB2.

Responsibilities

• Standard daily support of SAP Systems (ECC PI BI / BOBJ Portal Solman etc.).
• Act as SME support DBA within a wider team of DBA compute and storage specialists.
• Proactive monitoring of database usage using various database monitoring tools.
• Exposure to various database monitoring tools.
• Database instance incident resolution and incident analysis in coordination with client teams and third parties; monitor and track calls through to completion within SLA.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database alerts.
• Maintain strong database architecture and concepts.
• Knowledge of replication mechanisms in Oracle; exposure to database and server maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of database performance troubleshooting and RCA.
• Strong in database user profile access management and security administration.
• Excellent database error handling skills (session locks, deadlocks, invalid objects, replication issues).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills; patching maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Oracle Grid (DB monitoring) experience; database HA technologies (Oracle RAC).
• Perform daily system monitoring and system start/stop including database; update system kernel; apply SAP notes.
• Managing transports in the landscape; performing database administrative functions within SAP environments (e.g., tablespace extend).
• Managing user roles and authorizations; trouble shooting SAP dumps and logs; system start issues.
• Willing to work in a 24x7x365 support environment; experience on JAVA based systems (Portal PI / PO etc.).
• Solution Manager HANA / S/4 HANA knowledge is an added advantage.
• Candidates should be flexible/willing to work across delivery landscape (Agile, Applications Development, Support and Deployment).

Qualifications

• 7-10 years experience (3 years minimum relevant experience in the role); Bachelor’s degree.
• Certification: SE level 1 and seeking level 2.
• Must have experience in package configuration.
• Proficient in Business Analysis, Business Knowledge, Testing, Architecture Knowledge, Technical Solution Design, and Vendor Management.
• Senior IC role is indicated; experience with Capgemini expectations.
