Job description

Join to apply for the Senior Application Support Analyst role at RBC

Seeking experienced, highly flexible and self-motivated individual for very fast paced work environment in Capital Markets Treasury Management Services (TMS) desk applications and their interface with various upstream, downstream, infrastructure, database and more. This role requires candidate to support strategic initiatives related to process improvement, release automation, proactive monitoring automation and enforcing compliance across the applications to drive down incidents and maintain production stability.

The incumbent will coordinate with application development teams, support upstream and downstream systems, monitor processes, work on releases, liaise with business users, and aim to minimize application outages/Incidents. The candidate should also own the problem management process to reduce the impact of outages and prevent reoccurrences.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Support applications & infrastructure ensuring 24x7 uptime, collaborating with business users, managing changes, incidents & problems, conducting audits, EOD batch monitoring, automation tasks, BCP testing, and infrastructure planning.
  2. Work with Senior Management, front office traders, risk managers, and global teams to identify operational risks and ensure compliance with firm policies.
  3. Coordinate with development teams to resolve issues, document root causes, and implement permanent solutions.
  4. Prepare for maintenance, DR exercises, and major rollouts, coordinate resources for incident resolution, log incidents, and track resolutions.
  5. Provide updates to stakeholders, ensure systems meet quality standards, and escalate risks and control deficiencies timely.
  6. Address vulnerabilities and support team members with subject matter expertise.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years supporting production environments, with at least 2 years in Capital Markets (Derivatives, Structured Products, Futures, Bonds).
  • Experience with large-scale production systems, monitoring, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting logs from Linux/Windows.
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow, Confluence, Jira, monitoring tools (ITRS Geneos, Grafana), Job Scheduler (Control-M), scripting (Shell/Python), databases (Oracle, SQL Server), MQ, and SOLACE.
  • Knowledge of Windows and UNIX environments, SQL querying, and analytical skills for system improvement.
  • Availability for 24x7 on-call support based on shifts.
Preferred Skills
  • Understanding of ITIL, DevOps, Cloud technologies, stakeholder management, and Business Intelligence tools (Tableau).
