Industra Construction Corp. in Surrey, BC, is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our Finance team, reporting to the Director of Finance.

This role focuses on full-cycle AP in a fast-paced, project-based environment. You will manage high-volume vendor and subcontractor payables, holdbacks and sales tax compliance, while supporting month-end close and driving process improvements through automation and AI.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive full-cycle AP experience in construction or project-based industry.
• Experience with holdbacks, GST/PST in construction.
• Experience with AP internal controls and fraud prevention practices.
• Comfort with learning new systems and advanced Excel features.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle AP for high volume invoices, coded to jobs, cost codes and GL accounts.
• Perform two-/three-way matching against POs, receiving documents, subcontracts and change orders.
• Coordinate timely invoice approvals with Project Managers and vendors.
• Prepare weekly payment runs (EFT and cheque) with proper approvals.
• Maintain vendor master file, including banking detail changes to prevent fraud.
• Administer subcontractor holdbacks per Builders Lien Act and provincial rules.
• Review GST and PST treatment on invoices and support T5018 reporting.
• Support month-end and year-end close including AP-to-GL reconciliations.
• Prepare weekly AP aging and cash requirement reports.
• Drive automation/AI opportunities to improve AP processes.
• Act as primary AP contact and provide backup to accounting team.
