Westland Insurance Group Ltd. in Surrey, BC invites you to join our People & Performance team as Senior Advisor, Benefits & Disability Management. This hybrid role supports our benefits, wellness, retirement, and disability programs to attract, engage and retain talent.

You’ll partner with leaders and employees to deliver compliant, sustainable programs while advancing continuous improvement and a positive employee experience within a growing national company.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration, disability management, Total Rewards, human resources, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian benefits programs, disability management practices, leave programs, and Total Rewards principles.
  • Experience supporting benefits renewals, benchmarking activities, vendor relationships, employee communications, and program improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of employment standards, privacy legislation, workers' compensation, accommodation requirements, human rights legislation, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with ability to review data, identify trends, and provide practical recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex benefits and disability information to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion, empathy, and sound judgment.
  • Professional designations (CPHR/CEBS/CCP) are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Support the administration, coordination, and continuous improvement of Westland's benefits, wellness, retirement, and disability programs.
  • Provide guidance and SME to employees, leaders, Benefits Specialists, and People & Performance partners on benefits, wellness, leave, retirement, and disability matters.
  • Coordinate benefit program administration including enrolment, eligibility, communications, wellness initiatives, and plan documentation.
  • Partner with Payroll, HRIS, Finance, Legal, and People & Performance teams to ensure accurate, compliant program delivery.
  • Support benefits data integrity, reporting, audits, system enhancements, and process improvements in the HRIS environment.
  • Assist with benefits integration activities related to acquisitions, including due diligence and communications.
  • Conduct research, benchmarking, financial analysis, and trend reviews to evaluate program effectiveness and inform recommendations.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, insurers, retirement providers, wellness vendors, and disability management partners to enhance employee experience.

Westland Insurance Group Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Advisor, Benefits & Disability Management to join our People & Performance team. This is a hybrid role based out of our Surrey, BC Head Office and is a 12-month maternity leave coverage.

Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $71,200 to $89,000 based on a 35-hour work week. Actual offered salary will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as market conditions for the role, and internal equity
