Westland Insurance Group Ltd. in Burlington, ON, is seeking a Business Development Executive for the Group Benefits division.

You will identify, develop, and secure new employee group benefits opportunities across Canada, building strong client relationships and offering consultative support on health, dental, disability, and life products. The hybrid role requires a proven sales background, CRM proficiency, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client acquisition in group benefits.
• Proven ability to meet or exceed B2B sales targets.
• Experience developing new business opportunities within employee benefits/group benefits.
• Life licensed (LLQP) in home province.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through outreach, networking, and inbound leads.
• Meet and exceed sales targets within the Group Benefits division.
• Develop and manage a strong pipeline using CRM tools with accuracy.
• Conduct discovery conversations to assess client needs and recommend solutions.
• Prepare and deliver proposals and sales presentations to decision makers.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Underwriting, and carrier partners to develop effective strategies.
• Close new logo deals aligned with company goals and compliance requirements.

Job Description

We’re searching for a Business Development Executive – Westland Group Benefits. Are you searching for new possibilities?

Westland Insurance Group Ltd. is growing, and we’re looking for a driven, relationship-focused sales professional to accelerate the growth of our national Group Benefits division. As a Business Development Executive, you'll identify, develop, and secure new employee group benefits business opportunities across Canada. This is a high-impact sales role focused on generating new logo wins, expanding market presence, and strengthening client relationships while collaborating closely with internal teams.

You will leverage your knowledge of the Canadian employee benefits landscape to build strong client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and provide consultative support on group benefits solutions, including health, dental, disability, and life products. This position is a hybrid role based in Burlington, ON, with travel as required.

Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $85,000 to $90,000 based on a 35- hour work week. Actual offered salary will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as market conditions for the role, and internal equity.

• Develop and manage a strong pipeline using CRM tools with accuracy and clarity
• Conduct discovery conversations to assess client needs and recommend solutions
• Prepare and deliver proposals and sales presentations to decision makers
• Collaborate with Marketing, Underwriting, and carrier partners to develop effective strategies
• Close new logo deals aligned with company goals and compliance requirements
• Stay current with industry trends and Westland’s suite of benefits products
• Represent Westland at conferences, networking events, and industry sessions
• Ensure smooth onboarding and handoff of new clients to Account Managers
