Your insights will influence key decisions as you help shape our strategy in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Come join our team!

Effectively communicate the results of the rate reviews to all collaborators and get consensus on rate proposals.

  • Lead the filing process in the Atlantic jurisdictions and be the signing actuary following the regulatory requirements as outlined.

  • Improve effectiveness and accuracy in existing processes and procedures. Be forward-thinking and adapt models and techniques to business, product and data structure changes.

  • Collaborate with other regional leads as part of the Auto Street Pricing Leadership team to ensure that decisions fit within the overall pricing strategy.

  • Coach junior staff members to develop their technical and personal skills. Act as a role model for the Aviva values and inspire others to follow them.

  • Obtain a deep understanding of your assigned book of business in particular, and the Canadian business in general, to explain the key factors underlying the emerging experience and to provide strategic insights to collaborators

What you'll bring:

  • Proven ability to manage and complete projects with facility to multitask and prioritize.

  • Strong problem-solving and outstanding analytical skills with an insatiable desire to probe, question, validate and challenge to ensure accurate and insightful analysis.

  • Entrepreneurial and motivated spirit, with the ability to understand business requirements and turn them into actuarial analysis (and vice-versa).

  • Effective negotiation skills with the ability to build consensus and influence effectively.

  • Excellent working knowledge of regulatory filings

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a nontechnical audience.

  • Hands-on as well as managerial experience in scripting/coding, including Python.
