Job summary

MNP is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Assurance & Accounting team in Canada. You will deliver tailored financial information to clients, act as trusted advisor and support complex financial reporting challenges.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required.
• 2–4 years public accounting experience required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC and IFRS.
• Experience with accounting & tax software.
• Understanding of business, accounting and practice development principles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements.
• Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses; manage multiple files and perform inventory counts.
• Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset acquisitions, dispositions and payroll walkthroughs.
• Summarize clients’ financial status with balance sheets, P&L and other reports.
• Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues and assets.
• Review and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
• Establish charts of accounts and posting entries.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, client summaries and presentations.
• Coach and mentor junior team members.
• Participate in business development and identify opportunities.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
