Job summary

AbbVie in Westport, Canada seeks a Senior Accountant to lead financial close, reporting to the Operations Accounting Manager. You will partner with business leaders to drive initiatives, ensure accuracy and SOX compliance, and support audits, with controls applicable in multinational settings.

You will oversee FP&A, balance sheet reconciliations, and collaboration across Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operational Excellence to deliver robust financial performance.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with one of the Recognized Accountancy Bodies.
• Third level qualification in business or accounting.
• Experience in a fast and dynamic Finance Team.
• Experience in a global manufacturing environment or multinational preferred.
• SAP and Blackline experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary finance contact for a designated business unit, providing expert financial guidance.
• Lead month-end close processes including journal preparation, variance analysis and headcount analysis.
• Oversee FP&A for your area including monthly forecasts, annual budgets and long-range planning.
• Monitor, analyse, and report key financial metrics to senior management and cross-functional departments.
• Ensure all accounting and reporting procedures comply with internal controls.
