Job summary

Starlight Investments is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Core stewardship team. You will review financial results from third-party property managers, leverage AI and technology to improve close cycles, and support audits for funds and governmental filings.

The role emphasizes data integrity, timely reporting, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to optimize finance operations and automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate.
• Degree in accounting/finance or IT paired with accounting knowledge/experience.
• Ideally on CPA path, but not required.
• Knowledge of IFRS and ASPE.
• Moderate Microsoft Excel skills; ERP experience and Power BI knowledge are assets.
• Optimization of AI prompts and familiarity with AI technologies are assets.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure data stewardship within Core finance.
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness and completeness of monthly financial results using technology.
• Record correcting entries as needed to ensure accuracy.
• Review monthly financial reports from property managers to ensure accuracy.
• Assist with monthly/quarterly government filings (e.g., WSIB, EHT).
• Manage aspects of the audit process for funds.
• Participate in AI and technology adoption within the team.
