Job summary

Plooto is seeking a highly technical Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Canada. You will manage month-end close, AP, revenue recognition, and balance sheet schedules while driving process automation and operational efficiency.

The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, audit readiness, and collaboration with FP&A, Risk, and Ops. Experience with ASPE/IFRS and AI/automation mindset are valuable.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA completion.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with audit support.
• Knowledge of ASPE and IFRS; tech/payments SaaS preferred.
• Proficiency with Xero, Plooto, and BI/analytics tools; advanced Excel.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Interest in automation and scalable finance operations.

Responsibilities

• Own core month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable: coding, approvals, and payments.
• Prepare and review revenue recognition entries including deferred revenue.
• Maintain balance sheet schedules, amortization, depreciation and supporting docs.
• Help maintain separation of client funds and operating accounts per regs.
• Support risk reporting for losses; collaborate with Risk and Ops.
• Monitor FX exposure and support hedging documentation.
• Strengthen internal controls and segregation of duties.
• Assist in year-end audit, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with FP&A for investor-ready outputs and external auditors.
