Job summary

Kassen Recruitment seeks a Senior Financial Accountant to own day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for a private investment family office and its entities. This hands-on role requires independent management in a close-knit environment with leadership and external advisors.

You will oversee the full accounting cycle, prepare financial statements, and coordinate audits across multiple entities, delivering accurate information with discretion and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Extensive, hands-on accounting experience across multiple entities.
  • Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle: AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, and period-end close.
  • Experience preparing financial statements, reporting packages, and audit documentation.
  • CPA designation or professional accounting credentials is ideal.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping across multiple companies and entities.
  • Handle day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payments, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
  • Complete month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, reporting packages, and supporting schedules for senior leadership.
  • Prepare organized audit packages and supporting documentation for external auditors and professional advisors.
  • Complete bank reconciliations and monitor cash activity across multiple entities.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations as required.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized accounting records.
  • Coordinate accounting information and reporting requirements across multiple companies.
  • Support external audit, tax, and other professional advisory needs.
  • Investigate discrepancies and provide timely resolutions.

Job description

A private investment organization is seeking an experiencedSenior Financial Accountant to take ownership of day-to-day accounting and financial reporting across multiple companies and entities. This is a hands-on opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional who values stability, flexibility, and the ability to independently manage their responsibilities in a close-knit environment.

About the Role

The Senior Financial Accountant will oversee the full accounting cycle across the family office and its entities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, month-end close, financial statement preparation, and reporting. Working closely with senior leadership and external advisors, you will ensure financial information is accurate, organized, and delivered on time while maintaining the integrity of the accounting records across multiple companies.

What You'll Do
  • Manage full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping across multiple companies and entities.
  • Handle day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payments, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.

What You Bring
  • Extensive, hands-on accounting experience, ideally with responsibility for multiple companies or entities.
  • Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle, including AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and period-end close.
  • Experience preparing financial statements and monthly reporting packages.
  • Experience preparing supporting documentation and audit packages for external auditors and professional advisors.
  • Strong attention to detail and a consistently high standard of accuracy.
  • Highly dependable, organized, and diligent, with strong follow-through.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of responsibilities withminimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across several entities.
  • Strong Excel and accounting software experience.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to identify and resolve accounting issues independently.
  • Strong communication skills and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Experience in real estate, investment management, property management, real estate development, family office, or other multi-entity environments is an asset.
  • CPA or other professional accounting designation is ideal.
  • Comfortable in a stable, long-term individual-contributor role with a focus on ownership, consistency, and quality of work.
