Our client, a rapidly growing leader in retail and wholesale distribution with a national presence, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. Reporting to the Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing end-to-end financial operations, ensuring accuracy across multi-location accounting, and supporting strategic growth initiatives.

The Senior Accountant will manage full-cycle accounting processes including accounts payable/receivable, payroll administration, bank reconciliations (CAD/USD), sales tax filings, and month-end closing. Responsibilities extend to streamlining financial workflows, resolving discrepancies, and collaborating closely with operations and sales teams to ensure compliance with company procedures. Additional duties include overseeing government remittances, benefits administration, and providing critical support for new location launches, insurance, IT, and HR-related tasks.

The ideal candidate will bring 5-plus years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within retail, wholesale, or logistics. Proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and a track record of managing high-volume, multi-location financial operations are essential. Experience with payroll, GST/PST, and a proactive approach to process improvement will set you apart. A CPA designation (or progress toward one) is highly desirable. This role demands a detail-oriented self-starter with exceptional organizational skills, the ability to prioritize conflicting demands, and a talent for building strong internal/external relationships.
