Job summary

Communitas is seeking a Senior Accountant to deliver full-cycle accounting and financial management in support of its operations. Reporting to the Manager of Finance, you will work with the finance team, Communitas programs, administrative staff, and funders to meet the organization’s financial objectives.

The role is a full-time position (32-40 hours per week) based in Abbotsford, BC. CPA designation and a minimum of 3 years of experience are required, along with strong Excel skills and

Qualifications

• CPA designation and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Experience with preparation and/or auditing of financial statements and notes.
• Experience with financial management systems and ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and its intermediate level formulas.
• Self-motivated with strong communication and teamwork; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver full-cycle accounting functions and financial management for Communitas operations.
• Collaborate with finance team, program staff and funders to support department goals.
• Support preparation of financial statements and notes; assist audits as needed.

Job description

TheSenior Accountant position is responsible for delivering full-cycle accounting functions and financial management in support of Communitas operations. Reporting to the Manager of Finance, this position works closely with finance team members, Communitas programs, administrative staff, and Communitas funders to support the objectives of the organization’s finance department.

Positions Available: 1 Full-Time (32 - 40 hours a week)

Here's what we need from you:

• CPA designation and minimum 3 years of experience
• Experience with preparation and/or auditing of financial statements and financial statement notes
• Experience with financial management systems and any other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and its intermediate level formulas
• Self-motivated with the desire to actively seek out new job tasks and assignments
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently without supervision

Assets:

• Knowledge of and experience working for a not-for-profit organization, or conducting reviews or audits of not-for-profit organizations
• Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software, Yooz, and Donor Perfect Online software
