Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Service Technician in Ottawa to locate and repair security systems, including intrusion detection, CCTV, and access control. You will test systems, complete inspections, and ensure connectivity with monitoring centers.

The role requires knowledge of Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, DMP, DSC platforms, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain reliability clearance. Willingness to work out of town and participate in on-call rotations is essential.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of major security manufacturer platforms, including Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, DMP, DSC, etc.
• Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
• High school diploma. Ability to pass thorough background checks.
• Willing to work independently or in a team; open to out-of-town assignments, overtime, and on-call rotations.
• Must be able to obtain reliability clearance.

Responsibilities

• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test operation.
• Install, repair and/or inspect intrusion detection, IP CCTV, Access Control and alarm systems.
• Assist fellow technicians with system repairs and complete minor repairs including battery replacement.
• Test operation of system with customer monitoring center to ensure proper connectivity.
• Complete all forms and customer paperwork accurately.
